Restoration and Renovation Design

Buildings wear out over time; needs, functions, and user expectations change. As STAKON we develop restoration and renovation solutions that carry existing buildings into the future with a respectful approach to their historical and structural value. Our goal is to create buildings that are technically strengthened, functionally updated, and aesthetically contemporary.

Our Approach

  1. Current Condition Analysis
Each project begins with detailed surveying, material analysis, structural system examination, and condition assessment studies appropriate to the building's age. When necessary,
core sampling, radar and structural tests are performed.

  2. Respectful Historical Intervention
In registered building and cultural heritage projects, design is carried out preserving original materials, architectural style, and period details. Intervention decisions are coordinated with relevant boards.

  3. Functional Update
Considering the building's current or new intended use, interior space organization, circulation scheme, and building services infrastructure are updated. The balance between modern needs and historical fabric is maintained.

  4. Structural Strengthening and Fire Safety
Performance analysis is conducted for buildings with seismic risk, and structural system reinforcement and fire resistance improvements are designed.

Our Service Scope

  • Survey, restitution, restoration and renovation projects

  • Existing building analysis reports (soil survey, structural system, facade)

  • New function adaptations and space optimization

  • Structural system strengthening projects

  • Facade improvement and protection systems

  • Re-integration of electrical, mechanical and low-current systems

  • Interior architectural redesign and fixture updates

  • Board applications, restoration permit file preparation (for registered buildings)

Implementation and Technical Details

  • Layered intervention strategy: structural, infrastructure, aesthetic, function

  • Material compatibility: on-site solution recommendations such as wood, stone, brick, lime mortar

  • Facade cleaning, injection, plaster repair and moisture insulation solutions

  • Entrance-exit levels, disabled access and fire escape updates

  • BIM-supported restoration modeling and intervention plan
